Private Game — Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Private Game: the intimate couples card game with 600+ cards, five intensity tiers and a three-phase session arc. If your question is not answered here, reach us at [email protected].

Getting started

Is Private Game free?
Yes — the free tier gives you a complete session (15 cards in Quick mode or 22 in Classic mode) drawn from the Spark and Warmth tiers with a small Heat sample. You can unlock the full Heat, Fire and Inferno catalog with a one-time purchase or a weekly pass. Optional themed expansion packs (Adventure, Kinky, Long-Distance, Romantic) are sold separately.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Private Game runs in any modern browser at private-game.app and can be added to your phone's home screen as a Progressive Web App — no App Store or Play Store install required. If you prefer a native app, iOS and Android versions are also available.
How many players does it take?
Private Game is designed for two players — a couple — in the same room. You take turns drawing cards and responding to prompts together.
Do we need two phones?
No. The simplest setup is one phone passed between turns. If you want a bigger shared screen, TV-display mode lets one phone act as a controller while a second device (tablet, laptop or smart TV) shows the cards full-screen — but a second device is completely optional.
Can we play it on our TV?
Yes. TV-display mode syncs one phone as the controller with any second-screen device over a private WebSocket room. Open the display URL on your TV browser or cast a tab, then control everything from your phone.

Privacy & safety

Is our data private?
Yes. Session history, sealed wishes and your preferences are stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB) and never leave your device unless you sign in. When you create an account, your profile settings and session history sync to our servers so they follow you across your own devices — they are tied to your account and never shared with third parties. Card content is bundled with the app and is not transmitted from your device.
Do I need an account?
No account is required to play the free tier. Sign-in is optional and unlocks cross-device sync and purchase entitlements. Authentication is handled by Firebase; we do not share your credentials or session data with third parties.
Is it 18+?
Yes. An age gate at the start of your first session restricts access to users 18 and over. The higher tiers (Fire and Inferno) contain explicit adult content. You set your own tier ceiling, so you always stay in control of how intense the session gets.
Is it explicit?
That is entirely up to you. You choose a tier ceiling at the start of each session: keep it at Spark or Warmth for a flirty, non-explicit evening, advance to Heat for a softer sexual tone, or unlock Fire and Inferno for explicit play. Nothing above your chosen ceiling ever appears.
Who makes Private Game?
Private Game is built and published by NV-IT, an independent studio based in Belgium. For questions or support: [email protected].

Pricing

How do I get the full deck?
You can unlock the complete Heat, Fire and Inferno catalog with a one-time purchase, or choose a weekly pass if you'd rather pay as you go. Both players benefit from the single purchase during a shared session.
What are the expansion packs?
Four optional expansion packs add 100 thematic cards each: Adventure (outdoor & travel scenarios), Kinky (kink-curious play), Long-Distance (digital-touch prompts for when you're apart) and Romantic (soft, sensory focus). Each pack is sold separately and stacks on top of the base catalog.
Is there a subscription?
You can unlock the full deck with a one-time purchase, or choose a weekly pass if you'd rather pay as you go. The free tier never expires and needs no account.

Gameplay

How long is a session?
A typical session runs 20–45 minutes. Quick mode draws 15 cards; Classic mode draws 22 cards. The exact time depends on how deeply you engage with each prompt — some questions naturally invite longer conversations.
What are the tiers?
There are five intensity tiers in ascending order: Spark (lighthearted icebreakers), Warmth (flirty and sensual), Heat (sexual but soft), Fire (explicitly sexual) and Inferno (the most intense). You set a ceiling at the start of each session; cards above your ceiling are never drawn.
What types of cards are there?
The deck contains five card types: Questions (conversation starters), Tasks (things to do together), Dares (challenges with a playful edge), Duets (prompts that require both of you to act simultaneously) and Wildcards (surprising or rule-changing moments).
How does the session arc work?
Every session moves through three phases — Connection, Exploration and Passion — regardless of session length. The game automatically adjusts which cards appear in each phase so the arc feels natural even in Quick mode.
Can we play long-distance?
Not yet. Private Game is currently designed for two people in the same room. A long-distance / remote-couple mode is on the roadmap for a future release. The Long-Distance expansion pack does include digital-touch prompts, but full remote-play support is not yet available.

Devices & TV mode

Does it work offline?
Once loaded, Private Game works without a continuous internet connection — all card content is bundled with the app. An internet connection is only needed on first load and for account sign-in or purchase verification.
What devices does it support?
Any device with a modern browser: smartphones, tablets, laptops and smart TVs. Native iOS and Android apps are also available for an installed experience. TV-display mode works on any browser-capable screen — no special hardware or cable required.
How does TV-display mode work technically?
When you activate TV-display mode, the game generates a short room code. Open the display URL on your TV or second screen and enter the code. The two devices stay in sync over a private WebSocket room hosted on our server. Card content only appears on the display; the controller phone manages draws and progression.

Languages

What languages is Private Game in?
English, Dutch (Nederlands) and French (Français). You can switch the language at the start of any session — no need to reinstall or create a new account.
Are all 600+ cards translated?
The core deck is available in all three languages. Some newer or expansion cards may fall back to English while translations are being completed; the game will display the English text in those cases.
